this year. At the moment, my collection
of scans is just under 13,000. It has taken a lot of time and effort,
but it's great to have all my images in a format that is easy to view
and easy to share.

I'm in this group. I was never a fan of Reagan or his politics, but he
earned his funeral. Of Tom's pics, I like the hearse passing in front of
the Washington Monument the most.

That would make a great Mardi Gras costume! Any instructions on how to

Aha. 4000dpi, 14-bit scanning in the low-end model.
Maybe it's time to replace the CoolScan III.
Besides this list, there is a mailing list devoted to film scanners. Those
folks will be happy to fill in any details you don't get here :-). You can
find info on the listserv at

In response to my queries about autofocus telephoto zooms, a couple of

comment that the 70-210 zoom is not considered highly. Has
site does not list this lens. Anyone here know
anything about it? An extra half stop of brightness for an extra $10
sounds like a good deal.
Thanks!

What exactly are high speed sync, P-TTL, flash exposure compensation and
wireless TTL flash? More importantly, what advantage do they provide the
photographer? Is there a tutorial someone can point me to?
Thanks!
