I always envied Nikon F100 viewfinders compared to the PZ-1p and MZ-S
viewfinders. Had digital not come along I would have switched to Nikon. I like
my K5 though. My only problem with the K5 is that in bright light it is
difficult to read the viewfinder info. I love the interface otherwise. What

I have the Tamron(has a metal lens mount). It is a great lens. Great bokeh. Too bad
Pentax didn't make it. No flare problems, decent for manual focusing also. I like the
stand off distance I get with this lens. Highly recommended. Sorry, no experience with
the Sigma(plastic lens mount?).

If you want a 28-80 look for a used Pentax SMC F f3.5-4.5.
They pop up ever so often at KEH for about $80 used. Also, they don't last long when
they do have one for sale.
This lens rates well(aspherical element??) and supposedly the F lenses are built like
tanks.

I agree with the Portra being overrated. Last time I shot 160 NC I rated it at 125 in

it is probably not your imagination. The lens rates well in tests by
Photodo. I find that it is as good as Photodo and other users say. Hang on

This even worked for some 18 year old TriX Pan negatives stored in old PVC

I've shot the Kodak 400 C-41 B&W( the kind you buy at Target, WalMart, etc.)
and had it printed on B&W paper. It looks great. Only problem is I lose the
"savings" and "convenience" of C-41 due to the cost of having it printed on
B&W paper. I may as well shoot HP5 or TriX Pan(and do) becaus
absence of wind is a problem

I got a SuperProgram last summer from KEH. I've only shot one roll through
it without any problems. Yesterday, I noticed that the shutter speed
display inside and out was set on 1/1000 and would not change automatically
or manually. I popped in two new batteries and the problem went away.

seem to. Give it a rest already. Sheesh! :-)

Have the negatives (or slides) scanned by your processor OR buy the best
scanner, compu
Call FedEx in the A.M.(local office). Give them the tracking number. They
will hold it for you to pick up.

I'm glad you got one. The more you use it the more you'll love it.
The built-in flash is especially nice in that you have some fine control
over fill flash, exposure compensation using flash, etc. I find that the
autofocus is swift and sure when it locks on. Glad you like it. I have also

I think the Kodak picture disk or Seattle Film Works(now Photo Works)
software is pretty easy to use. My disks date back to late '99 early 2000.
I suppose you could copy the program from floppy to floppy with jpeg images
that you want to use in the slide show. I do not consider it to be
complicate
The PZ1-p stays in the drive mode in which you set it until you change it
whether it be 2s(with mirror lock-up) or 12s, etc. Quite logical and
convenient I'd say and not a complex operation to perform.

Has anybody tried Kodachrome 64 and/or 200 for the purpose of photographing
birds? I've seen some old Kodachrome slides that looked great. Small or
non-existent grain isn't everything(Kodachrome 200).
