I have the same problem at my work (actually, I've pretty much stopped
looking at photo.net photos because of this) - I think the workaround
might be to just give them the link to the photo. For example, I can't
view your page, but I can view this link to your first photo:

Adol Filter wasn't close enough for you? Snideness doesn't make for a

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... Sorry wrong story. A long
time ago when I still wrote communications software, I was sitting at my
desk and one of our companies salesmen called to get my assurance that a
particular board would plug into the system bus of the Small System

And to most technical types the salesman sounds like an imbecile.

Yes, that may be true, but do not lie to employees as to the reason
the photos are being blocked..Joe
P.S. She received a different computer that week, so maybe the person
before her that used the computer was a porn viewer..

Every time you plug a hole, an ingenious way is found around it. Most
non technical types believe the salesman. Hadn't you noticed?

Well, it would seem then, employers are easily satisfied with pro-forma
compliance. I've yet to see one of these filters that can prevent
someone from getting to pornography if they really want to.
OTOH, I have seen them block innocuous sites simply because the site
included the wrong word. And
I hereby invoke Godwin's Law and declare this thread dead.

No it satisfies, employers who don't want their employees looking at
porn when they're supposed to be working. That's what those filters are
meant for, (plus a scary message that your attempt to access a forbidden
site has been logged). Personally I see no problem using it this way,

The news reports here are that China blocked Flickr due to photos of the
Tianamen (?sp?) Square incident.
