You will find it is easier to manually focus a 50mm f1.4 lens than a f1.7 or
f2.0.
The extra light makes a big difference in how clearly you can see to focus.
Otherwise, I think the lens qualities are similar at comparable apertures.

The f1.7 is sharper at wider than f4. If I am correct, the f1.4 has 8
aperture blades while the f1.7 has 5.

opinion on the f/1.4 and f/1.7 lens?
In reality, I seldom use the aperture larger than f/2.0. So the f/1.4 and
f/1.7 have no difference for me. Rather, I wish to choose an optically good
lens.
