The reviews are "interesting". And the app update history is weak

dump the jpeg version of my images to my iPad as a form of backup and for

Paul is correct. Airdrop works great taking images from the iPhone to any
Mac. No extra hardware, no apps, no fuss.

Of course with a Mac you can keep it simple and just use Airdrop. I regularly
move my best phone photos to my Mac. Fast and easy. Nothing to buy.

I run a PC not a MAC but I can select what I want to copy/move from the
iPhone to the iXpand and if I plug the iXpand into a USB port I can copy
or move which ever images I want from the iXpand to my PC. I suspect
you can do the same thing using a MAC.

A review I just read says that there’s good selectivity of files on the phone,
but not when transferring from the device to a notebook/PC.

I use ProCamera for my iPhone pix. It has some pretty powerful tools
and you can set it to save as JPG, TIFF, RAW+JPG or just RAW. RAW files
are output as DNGs. It has a few in-app purchases, none of which I've
found necessary for general photography.

That looks good, too, but probably wouldn't work for me due to using a
heavy duty Otterbox case on both iPhone and iPad. I have one of the
early iXpand and even that is workable but difficult to attach. The new

Yes, it does have access to all of the photos on your phone.
It is also a very good camera. - shoots RAW. Much better than the native iPhone
camera.

I just double-checked and the iXpand app will let you select which files
you'd like transferred.

Made a start on checking it out. One concern is addressed: you have control
over what gets synced. Surprised that you can shoot with the app, as well as
manage files and edit. What if you

Thanks, Bob. This might work. I have lots of questions. I need to check it out.

Thanks, Paul. I gave it a try. Nifty. But I don’t find a way to select the

Thanks, Dan. There are pretty severe file size limits when I send attachments.
And at the moment I have roughly 250 files I want to get off the phone.

I've been moving away from LightRoom to other software so I use a
SanDisk iXpand to move stuff around between PC, iPhone and iPad (works
with a Mac, too). It has a Lightning connector on one end and a USB
connector on the other. With SanDisk's free app it makes short work of

That seems to be the ideal solution.

there might be to export just selected images from the phone. S
