I'd love a shootout against the A100/2.8
The rendering looks good.
What have you been able to gather about the optical formula?
Sincerely,

FYI,
I added a couple of B&W images at the bottom of the page.
I wouldn't mind seeing how it does as a portrait lens.
I bet it rocks.

Beautiful lens, and it seems to perform very well. My first screwmount camera
was a mamiya sekor, but I never heard of this lens. However it appears to be a
winner.

I just created a little page with some pix of the lens,
and a few test samples taken with it. Check it out:

There has been some interest in the 20/21mm SLR
lenses here lately so I took& posted a few shots using the
MAMIYA/SEKOR-SX 21mm F4 (M42) lens on this page:
http://www.jcoconnell.com/temp/ms21mm/ms21mm.htm
Later,
I've owned and used Mamiya/Sekor lenses in the past and found them to be
very good, however I have no direct experience with the 135mm f/2.8 m42
lens.

Hi
I am offered the Mamiya/Sekor 135/2.8 (m42) at a cheap price. Anyone know the
performance of this lens? Thanks.

FWIW,
heres another comparison shot of the Mamiya 21mm
F4 vs. the SuperTakumar 35mm F2.0. Not sure if
2 different focal lengths can be compared much
except for contrast...Whatever. Next time I will
use the 20mm SMCT vs. the Mamiya SX 21mm. That
will be a more meaningful matchup.

with the Mamiya-Sekor SX 21mm F4. (screwmount).
I used tmax 400 and shot at 1/125 F8
First time I used this one for B&W.

My first SLR was a used Mamiya Sekor 1000 DTL and it served me very well
for more than five years and at least 1000 rolls of film. It's a sturdy
workhorse with a good meter that can be set to either spot of averaging
configuration. the 1000 TL is averaging meter only but is equally tough.

Check on that. In the time of the screw-mount Mamiyas, Vivitar was merely a
marketing brand name owned by the Berkey Marketing Corp. I

M/S lenses were middle of the road and only the SX lenses have the pin. They
are for the DSX/MSX open-aperture metering bodies.

i'm thinking of getting some really cheap cameras for my twin nephews (12
years old, combative, obnoxious-they really remind me of myself at that
tender age)
You may try Fuji cameras of the same era. My brother had one and pawned the
50 mm standard to my father so he could have the inferior Tak

and virtues of the mamiya/sekor line of cameras? it seems that they are
screw mounts but what of their meters, shutters and general reliability?
