Just want to mention a scam I haven't seen before. I bid on an item and lost. I was contacted via ebay by a member who has 100% feedback over about 5 years, in this case. Just to clarify something... I sell stuff on Ebay and they do have a feature for selling to the guy who came in second if you get stiffed by the winner. However, I have only had to use this feature once in all the stuff I've sold there. If you get a message like the one below be very wary but

I suspect that the seller had someone put a shill bid in to drive the price up. I had something similar happen to me a few months ago. Someone outbid me on a camera. The seller contacted me and told me that the winner couldn't come up with the money. I was already uneasy and the whole thing started

Jay, I got a similar message out of the UK. When I tried to look for the sender, it said that AOL user was busy. When I clicked the "Respond Now" button, it asked for a log-in. That's when I quit. The easy way to check those is on your My Ebay. It lists your My Messages. When I check, nothing was
