Hello Paul, The setting is on the camera by pressing the flash button. It cycles between normal, redeye reduction, wireless and wireless/HS. Are you sure you are using HS? The shutter speed needs to be higher than 1/180 sec and the Pentax flash needs to be set to the appropriate mode. Once it

On the first shots I showed from the walk, I did use a bit of curves. On the last two, I did not do anything but straight convert to jpg. The first three shots while walking were center weighted. The girl with the helmet was multi-segment and the boy was center weighted. My normal settings are

Hi Bruce, That makes sense. Yes, I always set the flash to high speed. And as with your Pentax flash, the camera won't go above 1/150th (on the D) without the flash set at high speed synch. I usually shoot at manual exposure with a 1/500th or 1/750th shutter speed. But I've never changed
