Boris,
You're seeing the front of the bike, just below the handlebars where
the front fork comes up thru the frame. The front of the frame has a
Firestone logo/nameplate. Slightly behind that is a fake of a
motorcycle gas tank with an electric horn button. (All 12 year olds

Yeah, Bob is right. That big red F is called the head tube badge. The head tube
is (more or less) what connects the handlebars with the fork/front wheel.
Inside is what's called the head set that allows the front wheel to steer.
This is an old 1950s vintage kid's bike that was heavy, sturdy and
Yeah, I've seen a few others around. Seems that they were made by Huffy or
Murray (better known for their pedal cars) and rebadged.
Thanks for the comment and thanks to all who looked and commented.

I'll have to do a bit of research but I'd guess late fifties to early sixties,
this one was all stock - even original paint. Quite
Frank -
That Firestone brought back memories...the first bike I had was a 24
Firestone for my 7th birthday - in 1948. Mine didn't have the tank
which contained the horn and the D cells to power it. I was always
envious of my friends who had Schwinns with the horn/tank.
