I recently acquired a Program Plus and SMC Pentax-A 50/1.7 in outstanding
cosmetic condition. Maybe the physical condition should have been an alert
as to why the camera was hardly used.
After installing fresh silver oxide batteries and a roll of film I noted
the following problems:

The lens problem is common. There are two leaf springs on the button,
underneath. One is loose and will eventually bind up the aperture mechanics. It's
not a difficult repair, but you have to watch out for
