Pentax also had a costly quality control. Lenses were tested in Japan then sent to Usa where they were tested again before being sold here in USA. Its no wonder the lenses were of high quality, no duds ever got sold, they were rejected by QC dept. I doubt Pentax still tests every lens twice. -- J
