So, if I understand what you're saying, you can set the camera so that it
can under expose or over expose regardless of what the meter says is the
ideal exposure, and that can be done either manually or in ap priority, and
that you can override the camera's desire to change the iso.

Hi Shel,
You can control the camera to expose exactly the way you want it to. In
fact you have a great deal of control. You can use the camera in any of
five exposure modes, including full manual. In some of the auto modes,
you can also set it to change the ISO automatically if there's not

It's surely right that the nitwit mode should be the default. If it
wasn't, the nitwits would never find it, so there would be no point in
having it.

Hey, that implies the *istD to be a serious camera! Cool!

On my P&S (C**n) it works like this:
AUTO ISO gives you ISO 50 unless you use flash and the subject would be
out of range for proper illumination. In this case it will increase ISO
to the necessary value to get a properly exposed shot.
The one exception is when you set the camera mode to "Fast Sh

My second *istD and the DA 16-45 lens arrived late yesterday. i've set

Hi, Juan.
Good to have you back. Congrats on the purchase!
Paul Stenquist and Cotty recently proved to me with one of my own
images that the *ist D can deliver images to be enlarged to A3. That's
sufficient quality for me for a good while. At least until a digital

Welcome back, Juan.
No doubt you'll love your new *ist D. There is no comparison to using the

The joy of getting to see and work with your pictures immediately is
tremendous.
And it works nicely.
What I found most appealing is, that I think of my old Pentax stuff, as if I
just got it. The
