I STILL have the battery pack FG.
For all MZ/ZX cameras. It's new, in the box.
Buy it now, you know you want one.
$20 + shipping.
I've often thought about getting that item, if only to make my ZX-30 look
less dinky, but alas, I must be frugal.

P.S.: I hadn't touched my ZX-30 in
Arturo,
I vaguely remember some issues with NiCad and NiMH batteries causing
ZX-5n AF motors to burn out too quickly - something to do with a
slightly different voltage. I think it best to NOT use rechargeables
at all. I'm pretty sure Pentax recommends against them.

Actually, when they first came out they were something like $60 or $80
bucks! I bought one, decided I didn't like it, and sold it for nearly what

I put a thin black foam between the camera and pack,
it's very secure
and I've used it on tripod many times with heavy
lenses, now my
beef is that it sits off center on the tripod after
meaning it's all
off balance, that and it can't sit on the pack, it
wants to nose

Cory,
I had one for a while, and I got rid of it. I do a lot of landscape work
from a tripod. The battery grip did not lock onto the base of my ZX-5
solidly enough to provide a really rigid connection between the camera
mirror box and the tripod.
This is not a problem if you're shooting
Thanks.Have to add more to the budget

I scored the $12 used one from BH a couple of weeks ago for my ZX-M. It was
basically brand new. Maybe it was Mark's. ;)

Value for money depends on how much you pay for it. Here in the UK, the FG pack
retails for the equivalent of about USD 110, a crazy price for a plastic box with a
prong on one end, whatever it does for the feel of the

I was tempted to use NiCad or NiMH in the FG grip too but the manual said
alkalines only so I didn't. Usually if it can, the manual would stay that
(like ME II Winder, Motor Drive A or other flashes).

no reason for having any problems with
NiMH batteries, they
did how ever state that they did now reccomened
against using NiCads.
