Bruce, sorry I am late.
I tried to look at your gallery once but somehow the net was too slow. I
even started to write a comment but I

That's why I suggested we share contact sheets. I find studying
contact sheets a very revealing exercise.

I believe that some of Shel's comments stem from the fact that at each
of our PDML gatherings, we try to focus on a specific type of
photography. This particular one was to focus on the genre of

Bruce,
Despite Shel's remarks, I liked the Alley Fire Escape and Jared & Ashley best.
I wish the guys (or guy) in the alley were doing something more interesting,
but the graphics of the fire escape and building walls just do it for me.
Ashley's face in the light is a nice contrast with the dark ba
Whatever the original intention, Bruce has displayed eight pictures of

Very nice. Love the pic through the waterfall. I like "Interesting
Alley," but it appears to be leaning about 1 degree to the right. To my
mind, it's the kind of shot that has to be either totally tilted or

Good grief, Shel, aren't you making a large assumption here?
Bruce was shooting in the city. Does that mean he HAS to be shoot in a
particular kind of way, and more precisely, in the manner characterised as
"street photography"?

Hello Shel,
When we planned this get together, we had decided to shoot a genre
that was different for many of us. I, among others, were totally out
of our element as we made our first attempts at this.
I'm happy that you would be so clear in your discussion about what it
really means to capture
Hi Bruce
I'd like very much to give you a few "atta-boys" for this little gallery,
but I can't.
The "street" is a dynamic, vibrant, organic place, teeming with activity
and life, filled with joy and sorrow and humor and relationships. There
