I don't have Stan's collected comments in front of me, so mine may overlap.
I should add that I'm becoming a fan of using in-between focal lengths
(like 30 or 31) to replace a pair (28 and 35):
From Pentax catalog: "The perfect solution for those trying to choose
between the 35 and 28mm focal

Fred,
What I was trying to put across is the the optical and build quality on
some of the Tokina lense surpass that of others - such as Sigma and Tamron.
All the Sigma lenses I have handled and used are "throw away lenses". My
wife had one on her Minolta AF I bought her in the early 90's - it

I was a little surprised to find mine at a camera store. The owner was going
to put it on e-bay because he figured he could get more for it there. I
nabbed it along with an incredible Tokina ATX 90mm f2.5 macro with special

I recently purchased this lens and although I have not done extensive testing
with it, so far I like it...

I've only had mine about two weeks, but I really like it. Build is
superb, and though it is of course wider than 35mm, it doesn't seem to
stretch the corners like a 28mm. Flare seems well controlled, and bokeh
is nice. I haven't noticed undue light fall off, and sharpness even
wide open is good.
Hi everyone,
What are your experiences with the K 30f2.8?
