I also think that would be nice to have. With tool like pillar, graphiscopio,
that would be a really great option !

That would be phenomenal! Let me know if and when it's done and I shall

I don’t have any issues with Linux in full screen mode (Mint 18 KDE and OEL7
UEK KDE) but it sounds like it may be an issue with the Wayland graphics
system, and KDE doesn’t use it AFAIK. If so, it may also be driver specific –

Just a quick follow up: We've found that if we are in fullscreen Pharo mode
on Linux and hit the ALT button twice, the Athens-based rendering speeds up
significantly. The first ALT brings the Unity launcher to the foreground.
The second ALT bring fullscreen Pharo back to the foreground. I'm not sur
Btw, did Self ever work? At all? The last I remember it was in a similar
state to Electron without the M$ adds in Visual Studio, i.e. the samples from
the site don’t build.

OpenDoc was also very cool, but without branding, where would M$ be?

Andrew,
I worked with OS/2 in the early 90s and really liked it; I adopted it for my
personal use as well. I really enjoyed reading the details you provided earlier.
I have a hypothesis that when IBM tried to sell OS/2 (Warp) via a retail
channel that it "hurt". A company whose DNA was channe

Engineers don’t innovate often in core technologies, because they’re careful.
Of course that also means they generally make terrible marketers 😊.
They also don’t generally compete, which is part of the problem in this
industry. The semiconductor industry, for instance, provides money to an
Hi Dimitris,
you have pointed out some good thoughts.
However, for me any technical thing can have two aspects:
- solve a problem, provide a product which has value (for get things done)
- take the concepts (of applied technics and computer science forward)
For me, both things are important. Ex

A tiny example why OS/2 was great:
Btw, I think we gained pace when JS took over the front end, but lost
visibility. Nothing is slower than coding a client/server app with the front
end in JS. The ‘rise’ of JS is a side effect of the fact that the web was
designed, built and continues to be built by ‘coders’ who don’t know enoug
