I have two nice horn machines for sale: An early Victor II (Humpback),
$875; A late Columbia AH ($875).
The Columbia AH is in near mint condition and all original except for
turntable felt.
The Victor II is in nice condition with rebuilt reproducer and new turntable
felt.

I'm helping someone to find parts for a Columbia AH second style. I have an
original reproducer that I can put a repro needle bar on (unless someone has
an original laying around) and he may have found the crank but he still
needs the horn support parts, i.e., the curved arm that attaches to the

I looked through Tim and George's book, "The Talking Machine" and found the

I'll still take some photos of mine when I get back.

If your crank is front of center, the control switch is on the top, and the
motor is horizontally mounted, then it is the earliest AH style.

Guys, I will be happy to take some pics but it will be a day or two. I do
not know the difference between early and late as I am mainly an Edison
collector. I'd be happy to see some photos of one vs. late. It has round

Was someone on the group looking for an AH? Somehow the message never made
it down to my reader. I have one I bought in the late 60's wrapped in a
newspaper dated Dec. 1923. I bought it and the Edison C-19 that replaced it.
It had spent all those years in a cedar closet. I displayed it for a whi
Hello group.
I recently bought a Columbia AH for my collection. The machine looks and runs
well. The one issue that it has is that the motor is noisy. I realized that
with a machine that old, some noise is to be expected. But this is loud enough
to be distracting.

Do not grease/oil a fiber gear. You may be able to adjust the gears a
bit to contact in a different area, which may reduce the noise.
Otherwise, new nylon replacements are available.
