With all the discussion now centred on scanners, I wondered if anyone had tried a pinhole scanner ? I hope to try a card body with a tracing paper screen against the glass plate and a suitable pinhole. Aimed at a bright subject it should, in theory work ! Watch this space. Ellis.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I scanned a couple of my grandfather's glass negatives from around 1903-1904. My scanner has an attachment for scanning negatives, but it is specifically for 35 mm, so a 4x5 glass negative was too big. I placed a sheet of plain white paper on top of the negative and shin
