Joe,
I didn't find any bad reviews of the current Gazelle Pro...I think they
changed it over time and the older reviews (by several years) talk about a
system different from the one on sale today.
I like the gazelle except for the video card...would rather have more
choices for gaming. I read som

Jason,
Not to hijack your thread, but how do you like your Bonobo Extreme? I am
thinking of getting new System 76, and I am deciding between the Gazelle
Pro or maybe the Bonobo Extreme. However, the Bononbo Extreme looks like a
beast, and may not be that portable. Is this your first System 76, or
I can't believe that this all worked.
My old computer was a Thinkpad T61 with Xubuntu 12.04, still functional,
but replaced last December with a new System76 Bonobo Extreme. The
Thinkpad went on a shelf.
The Bonobo Extreme came with a 1 TB hybrid drive, but I added a 480 GB

I finally bought a new laptop. This is a Sager resold by Linux reseller
System76. It is scheduled to arrive in time for the December 15 Clinic,
where it will get baptized with Xubuntu 12.04.3 Desktop. I told them
not to bother installing Ubuntu 13.10, but if they do I will just wipe

I have found much the same thing. Most all of my RAM goes to a few
piggy applications like VMWare, OpenOffice, gimp, and firefox. Some
of these like VMWare and gimp are serious applications doing serious
work on major data sets; so I can understand their large RAM
requirements - BUT firefox!! It

Marvin,
Toshibas have worked well for me and can be purchased for less money than
the venerable Lenovo/IBM ThinkPads. Check the large retailers (like BestBuy)

I would recommend an OS upgrade. Intrepid was not the best with system
resources. I am running a beta of Lucid Lynx (Kubuntu 10.04) on a dell mini
9 with an atom processor and firefox is only using 3% of my CPU. This
netbook is MUCH lower power than your system so perhaps the software upgrade
