Sorry which Plugin BBC-Real (Firefox) or Inguz?
I had forgotten about Inguz - and exactly what I did. It was blocking
my use of Slimserver - maybe I set it up wrongly. I may have posted on
this will have to check what I said at the time. I probably cleared the
Inguz problem by disabling it via S

Hi, I installed the plugin on my Mac mini OSX 10.3.9
I can only get Radio 5 and above. No 1 to 4/4LW. I left it like this
for a couple of months. I have tried again, same result. If I go to
/usr/local/bin I find lame & mplayer. The version number is 6.5. Not

I'm pretty sure the strange behaviour is because inguzDSP has modified
the slimserver convert.conf files. To remove inguzDSP it looks like
your must DELETE the plugin and also change all the slimserver conf
files back to original as well as deleting the inguzDSP.exe.

I can't get ttftosbg working. It runs fine on my XP laptop and I used
"choose font" and "save as bmp" to create a file called "lucida
sans.2.font.bmp".
However, when I transferred it to the slimserver/graphics directory on
my terastation and restarted slimserver, it does not appear in the

OK there are the right files.
Your Windows should be OK as the issues in the past have been with Win
2000.

I have just read through my last post again. To avoid confusion my
installation is Media Centre 2004 based on XP Pro with SP2.

I don't understand the relationship between the Beeb and Real Player
and why the Beeb should so heavily recommend the download of the 10.5
plug-in

That's good - there's some rewrites of AlienBBC which will coincide with
7.0 plugin changes so I'll try to make sure the description changes get
included.

It look like you were right - that log says that Slimserver doesn't
recognize the RTSP type which is use for RealAudio. That means the
AlienBBC installation is not right in some way. Since AlienBBC was
working - we should assume the configuration files are corrupted or
protected.

James, did you look at improving the interface towards the SlimScrobbler
plugin so another plugin could change the active scrobbler user account
by calling a function or CLI command ?

couple of profiles (streaming to two different squeezeboxes) and have a
different playlist to each... and have the relevant Last.FM accounts

well, my experience now is that SlimServer on Vista isn't hugely
reliable, but on WinXPsp2 is rock solid and (for me) talks to
Last.FM without a hiccup there.
Looks like my SlimServer will not be a Vista machine just yet :(

I'm listening to my collection through headphones plugged into my laptop
(no speakers in the room where I work at home) and I've just switched
from Foobar to SoftSqueeze, which for some reason causes less stress on
the server. (Slim.exe was pinning the CPU on the server every 10

You situation is odd in that AlienBBC was working and then suddenly
stopped for no apparent reason and you installed no new software in the
meantime.
The socketwrapper is still a possibility because ZoneAlarm has been
known to cause problems but I don't think it is the issue if AlienBBC

internet - allowed - sadly still got the connect problem.

It may still be worthwhile trying the socketwrapper as IMsecure is a
part of some Zonealarm packages. It is also possible that another part
of ZoneAlarm has the same effect.
Changing the network timeout is also worth trying as it takes little
effort.

I have posted before on this a couple of weeks ago. AlienBBC was working
fine. It has not worked in the past few weeks. I click on any of the BBC
feeds on the Squeezebox and I get the message "checking stream" then it
tries to connect and that is where it fails - it tries and tries it is
