thanks for the input; i've been reconfirming that all is set up well,
and it seems to be. the "groovesalad" AAC+ feed is of very good
quality.
i guess my question is twofold:
1) can anyone confirm that the site i posted for KTRU AAC+,
http://128.42.33.17:8002 , is of high or low quality? again,
I just tried Softsqueeze for the first time actually (version 3.4 from
the Sourceforge files section), and it was with Java 6 on Ubuntu. It
worked, but not very happily... after a while of playing it would give
some errors...
org.titmuss.softsqueeze.audio.AudioException: Cannot read http
headers
Thanks for letting me know. I had searched the forums but couldnt find
anything.
Too bad it wont work with synced players.

Man, wish I had found this skin way sooner. It's sooo much easier to
use than any of the other skins I've seen. Even in it's "beta" state,
I plan to use it most of the time.

After my system did an auto update to it's Java version I'm no longer
able to get SoftSqueeze to work properly. Basically the Transporter
appears (with no remote) but it never attempts to connect to SlimServer
and I cannot access any of the SoftSqueeze configuration menus or
buttons. The close b

WiMP's seek bar just hangs the player for anything other than minor

flaky.
I'm not sure how the song scanner plugin is meant to work - at first
glance, the plugin's description doesn't sound like FFwd/REw
functionality. I'll

I don't think it will work for Slimserver as DirectX is an API to give
better (i.e. "direct") access to the PC hardware - in this case the PC
soundcard. There is no windows interface to slimserver to pass sound
from an application to the SB so this plugin is not going to work

Isn't this similar to the InguzDSP plugin already available ?

Slimserver does support seeking, song scanning, or whatever you

Check out KDF's excellent song scanner plugin:

Also frontends such as Moose allow you to click on the time-bar to
jump to any point in a song.

With Foobar you can grab the progress "slider" with the mouse and move

That's a plugin for a completely different system. SlimServer doesn't
support neither of these two.

I would love to buy and use the 'BBE Sonic Maximizer Plugin'
(http://www.bbesound.com/products/maxim/newplugin.asp), as a software
plugin with SlimServer. I have no idea if this would work "right out of
the box", or if it is even possible to use it with SlimServer at all.
