Hi I installed SS 6.5.4 and the waveinput plugin today on my Mediacenter
XP platform. I keep on getting "error can't open file" and the following
error (from debug) when I try to use the waveinput feature:

There are two ways to solve this:
1.
Have two separate SlimServer running, one f

What the modified custom-convert.conf file does is send WAV to STDOUT
but an unmodified mplayer will also send text messages to STDOUT so you
may get bursts of noise in the output stream - usually at start and
finish.
The mplayer-stdout patch redirects all text messages from mplayer to
STDERR and

Hi guys i am trying to get this plugin to work, but keep on getting the

I use Moose as my interface, and when I try to play through Softsqueeze,
it keeps prompting me to download the new version, but I can't get a new
version to launch. Any suggestions?

bpa,
I built the files yesterday and at last success :), I now get sound for
AlienBBC.
I'm not 100% sure whether I needed to rebuild in any special way to
produce mplayer-stdout, I just rebuilt as normal to produce a new
mplayer and created a link to that version named mplayer-stdout. Do I

In which case it should be where you've put it Patrick - should be the
same location as other plugins.

The ubuntu (debian) install doesn't have a ../slimserver/server
directory - the Plugins directory has always been ../slimserver/Plugins
Would it also require a ../slimserver/server/Bin directory too?
What's the plan for 7.01a and debian file locations?

I think it is in the wrong location it should be in
slimserver/server/Plugins
The following snippet of startup log message should give you an idea of
what message to expect and where in the log file.
Code:

Hi
I have a question regarding Sirius premium audio stream. I've been
using the plugin for a couple of weeks now and love it. Has anyone
compared the audio quality against listening to Sirius on a
conventional satellite radio? My ears are probably not that discerning,
but I think the quality of th
I've untared the file and it's in ../slimserver/Plugins/Alien (etc) but
still no evidence of AlienBBC's existence when restarting slimserver.
I've now also removed slimserver and done a clean apt-get install - but
no difference.

Version Info
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 133
We are pleased announce a new release of AlienBBC. This release is a
beta release of v2.00 and is only compatible with SlimServer 7.0. As
this is a BETA release we cannot a fully support it, also if things
change in 7.0 then this release may stop working - it has been tested
with revision r13361.
It's not deliberate!
I've noticed that the web page looks rather strange in the new default
skin, but I'm not making any changes until that stops changing! Or at
least slows down a bit...

Can I suggest though that you drop the scroll-bar alongside the last.fm
stations. Since the pane has a scroll-bar anyway, there ends up being
two.
Sean.
P.S. Very happy to have full control of last.fm again. Now for erland's
plugins and I'll say goodbye to SS6.5!

Slimserver sometimes has problems determining if it can access a DNS
nameserver especially with ASYNCH http, a facility which is used by
AlienBBC.
Start slimserver from a shell prompt with the debug options --d_server
--d_startup --d_http_async and --d_plugins
Can you post the log or at least i
Just installed SS7 and tried the latest CVS. Haven't tried scrobbling
yet, but going to LastFM in Internet radio I keep getting a "Please set

I do have LAME installed as a codec for dBpoweramp. What do I have to
do to get SlimServer to 'see' it, or do I need to install again
specifically for SlimServer?
