The part that interests me the most is having a 'default' (master)
player from which all new players will take their settings, as per 'bug
726' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=726).
Could this really be done as a plugin?
A couple of thoughts:
It would be desirable to have different
Well, I've downloaded version 1.1.1 of the plugin, but still no joy. The
symptoms are the same as I described in posts #106, #108, and #110 of
this thread: SqueezeScrobbler shows up in the Extras tab, but not the
Advanced tab, and no clues in the log. When it is working, where should
Last.FM show
anything news yet?
I found out that the usr/lib/perl... dir is symbolic linked to
/usr/local/lib/perl... so the file store.al would be found according to
the path within @INC.
Why it does not work is a mystery.

Surry, you are quite right.
I could have sworn that when I checked the double drilling down was not
needed, in fact I was surprised at that, as long ago I needed to doit,
and had put that in the instructions.
But I have checked it again, and it does seem needed.

Wouldn't it be better to make this as a patch for the SqueezeCenter core
?
To me it seems like what you describe is how most people would like it
to work, although I have never used synced SqueezeBox'es myself so I'm
probably not the correct person to answer.

The steps on a Linux system to extract the mplayer binary from the
mplayer DMG file.
1. Convert dmg to ISO (call it mplayeros
I forgot, should I see an Alien Icon on the SC7 menu (like other
plugins)? If yes, where?
Thank you for your time!

It's not working for me. Should I use /usr/local/bin to move the mplayer
file when I installed the SC7 for all users?

Hi James,
Thanks for the quick response. Your pointer to the server logfile kinda
got me looking in the right direction, and I got it fixed. Apparently I
had a "similar artist" station entered in a wrong format.
I've entered it strict now as: artist/[ARTISTNAME]/similarartists
Now it works. It w

Tom,
Here's a patch that does the following:
- Eliminate the need for the user to edit Plugin.pm. Add a settings
page to select timezone and now/nowsoon.
- Auto detect if Alien is installed and enable Real. Default to MP3
and WM.
- Clean up some strings.

Intel iMac with 10.5.1 ? SC7 is installed for all users.
The explanation on the Alien BBC website is a little bit confusing
since i'm using SC7 for all users.
Thank you very much.

I too have a problem whereby the large font settings are being displayed
over the top of the two-line display settings on the second screen on
the Transporter.
I'm running SC7 (7.12.07) with v3.99 of MusicInfoScr as a new install
on a new Vista PC.

Could you please give the following change a try:

I think you have some wireless issues with SB as the SB lockup showed.
Make sure that Server Setting/Filetypes RTSP->Flac is unchecked so that
MP3 is sent to SB.

Yeah, I'm not happy with the current settings page, wanted to change it, making
it possible to store settings and retrieve them for various uses etc. But

Thanks bpa
SB is connected wirelessly and I notice the strength was down to around
28% tonight, so maybe that's adding to the issue. Having said that,
since the update of mplayer and after adjusting my buffer, plus pausing
the stream for a bit I've had continuous play for the first time in
weeks.
Stuttering, short gaps of silence or short repeated audio on live
RealAudio streams are all an indication of network problems. Network
problem will not manifest themselves on "listen again".
If you hear problems on "Listen Again" then generally the problem is
either a very serious network conge

I'd like to be able to play random songs from selecting an artist. I can do
this in Custom Browse->Artists, invoking the Random Mix mixer. However, it's
not possible on the standard Artist browse mixers, and therefore I don't get
the option if I use Search or Lazy search to find an artist.

I'm sure I have the latest beta version of the plugin.
I've changed the 2nd screen large font mode to have blanks for now.

Yes I did install Mplayer, but now think I may have solved it.
The directions I was following from the "AlienBBC: mplayer on the Mac"
forum were slightly misleading. It says there are 3 versions of the
Unix Exe file with different names, and to copy the relevant one into
the bin folder and rena
I don't have a Mac. I use 1.0rc1 on Linux and Windows systems.
I have "unwrapped" the 1.0rc1 for Intel Mac systems and provided ftp
access to the command line mplayer executable and a number of Mac users
are using it without problems.
Have you tried the mplayer in a Terminal window and tested

Did you actually download 1.0rc1? You only said you "tried" to download
it.
And if you do mean "OSX" and "Universal" you are still at the installer
package level. Have you actually installed MPlayer? It's only after
installation that you can start drilling down to the Unix mplayer.
