IOKit on mac and D-Bus (look for org.freedesktop.DeviceKit.Power) will
send a "can suspend" request to registered devices (why not programs)
before suspending the system.
If a device says "no", then the suspend action is canceled.

That's all it needs to do, I think. Perhaps it needs to send CLI request and
then delay the shutdown/suspend/hibernate power mgmt message for a while for
the SbS processing to occur and for mes
Well reading between the lines, MIP is pretty much dead. Seems that the
technology has been sold to another company and will be reborn here at
some point; http://www.amplifiedmusicservices.com/
For the moment, MIP version 1.9b6 works fine with sc7.3.3 there are
loads of guides about setup, see t

Yes it looks like the aac feeds are higher bitrates. We need to lobby
the bbc to make the aac feeds available natively so players such as
squeezeboxes can use them...

for example, Radio3 WMA at 192kbit/sec and AAC at 192kbit/sec<
Radio 3 is streamed at 128kbit WMA, at least now from a clean feed. The
iPlayer feeds are 192kbit AAC, that's a world of difference!

So which of the 3 plug-ins do I pick to use sc natively (itunes, wmp,
winamp).
The threads for this are very old... are there any gotchas to avoid in
installing this.
I will be using 7.3.3 on windows home server with approx 40k mp3's.

My understanding (as indicated by various websites) is that the UK
bitrate for WMA streams are now the same as the Flash/AAC and Flash/MP3
streams. I can't access these streams so I would expect a user to test
and confirm/refute this as this was a recent change.

The BBC radio AAC streams are at higher bitrates (for live programs)
than the WMA streams & should give better sound quality.

Try ETNG - or one of the other codes from the 'Airport' drop down list.

Try running SS using a mac address never used before. ie. add

You should see a new player called Squeezeslave. Try playing your flac
files with that player.
If that still doesn't work, install a 0.9 binary and report back. I'll

I'm on Vista 64 and all works well from command prompt but my SB3

May I suggest a nice plugin? DonĀ“t know where to do it otherwise...
A plugin showing status of your current downloads running on a
bittorrent client on the same NAS hosting your squeezecenter.

I must admit when I saw the new amd64 0.7 freenas build with zfs, I went
straight to the slimnas site, in the hope you had won the lottery and
suddenly had alot of time on your hands! ;)
Ho hum, here's to hoping you get the time :)

I've also once seen a Scandinavian language show up randomly for some
options on SN. It happened a few months ago, but as I rarely use SN I've
not seen it since.

What is the advantages of using the AAC stream vs WMA ?
The AAC stream would requires SC to transcode vs a WMA stream which can
be played natively and so no need for transcoding (i.e. use SN or a
small NAS)
AAC listen again using flvstream would have no FFW / REW so why is it
better than MP3 ?
>is there any easy way to stream the AAC live radio feed into
Squeezecenter...<
Nope. This is bleeding edge stuff, hence I posted to see if the crew
who did AlienBBC could make the last jump from mplayer into
SqueezeCenter.

Hm, this sounds like several issues.
Could you try whether "Settings-iPeng Settings->Forget Last Server"
helps?
If SqueezeNetwork only works intermittently, something with iPhone
internet connection could be wrong.
And if you can only reach your local host through dyndns: could it be
