I spoke too soon. The server still becomes non-responsive and requires
me to Force Quit it.
This is the SQL that is generated that is supposed to produce my list
of playlists in my library. It never does.

Thanks for the info.
Here's what I want to try... I have 4 SB devices connected but ONLY
want the Transporter to go through the Inguz plugin for the sound room.
The rest I just want to work as default, some of them bitrate limited
to MP3 due to slow transfer speed.
I'll look into this convert.c
Greg,
thank you!
Much appreciated :)

Is this with SqueezePlay or a real Squeezebox 2 - I would expect what
you have from Squeezeplay if there is no wma support on the server. I
would expect wma to work on a real Squeezebox 2 though.

Here are three debug snippets. WMA only no transcoding, All formats no
transcoding and all formats transcoding. Only the final option plays.
With WMA only as valid streams and no transcoding

No, that's not what I mean, I specifically meant the first case which
has to do with 7.7.0, all the other issues have to do with older
versions. You will not have a caching issue with 7.7.0, it's fast and
stable, also on XP.
The 7.7.0 problem is that it creates an excessive number of submenus

The OP didn't want to lose quality and IIRC didn't want decoding and
recompressing into lossless format - which is why the
mplayer/dumpstream approach suited.
The AAC / ADTS files produced by mplayer are still playable by mplayer,
vlc and even older SB players through SBS/LMS.
The OP can still

Hi Erland,
is this supposed to be fixed now? With me it does not seem to work. I
have touched / retagged the set of wma files one of which I sent to
you, so that they are
It probably won't help you, but all this works just fine under linux.
I have scripts that use mplayer dumpstream and kill mplayer after a set
time.
I do run a simple program after to find the first valid mp3 frame and
throw away everything before it, but I don't know that that is
necessary.

You wanted to record the stream exactly without change and so the output
isd in an AAC ADTS stream format which has no header. Some player may
be expecting a file format and so will not play it.
You can see info about "container formats"

The wiki entry clearly states that SB2 cannot play AAC natively - it is
transcoded.
MP3 is flash MP3 which means it needs help from SBS.
There may be a bug with Flash/MP3 handling so I would suggest setting
the format to WMA only as that format can be played natively by SB2 and
needs no transcod
It looks like after installation of this version LMS refuses to start
after a reboot of the server. It keeps loopinf in a startup/shutdown
loop. After deinstalling trackstat LMS starts normally after a
reboot...

I am using the top one that has all the options with WMA at the end
AAC>FlashAAC>FlashMP3>WMA

Assuming you are using a 7.4 or lat
Updated CS to latest version and that's working fine, thanks. Still a
bit confused about how plugin updates now work - I removed the old
folder from "plugins" folder and then re-installed from extensions
manager. That worked, but now I don't see any "CustomScan" folder in
the "plugins" folder.

No. For now: just give them different names.
iPeng shows all your servers and let's you just select anyone of them
from the MultiPlayer screen just like you can select players (actually
you can even select a player on a different server right away) and you
can also move players between servers.
Hi
I have asked this before but I have another question. I now have SBS
installed in my NAS. I just received ny Vortexbox Appliance which I
understand iPeng should also pick this up. Do I have to disable my NAS
so iPeng won't get confused as to which server to use?
Your thoughts?
Thanks
Pat

OK, I'll try that, but now for what may seem a really stupid question.
How do I update Custom Scan from within the plugins manager? The only
way I can see of updating it is to download and unzip manually.
