So I received my cheap tablet yesterday and installed Soundicity as well
as LMS locally. Unfortunately even with inputing localhost:9000 under
the ip address for local servers I still could not get it to connect to
LMS running on the tablet. Do I just input "localhost:9000" or do I
need anything

Don't learn too much (easy for me - I forget it all and look it up each
time), change is afoot with the method of starting and controlling
services. Some distributions have already changed.

Assuming you have command line access:
Code:
sudo service logitechmediaserver stop
should work. If not, let us know.
LMS 7.9 on Vorte
Fumbling to turn the Radio on this morning, I was immediately struck by
how quickly 5 Live started to play. Since the streams switched to HLS,
there has always been a hiatus of several seconds before a stream was
audible. Now it is back to how it used to be: no more than a second or
two for any of
I have a problem with streams suddenly stopping dead too using Triode's
alpha plugin, it can be after just 5 seconds or 2 minutes or 30 minutes,
it happens a lot for On Demand, and sometimes on Listen Live too.
This is LMS 7.9 on OS X, happens with Squeezebox Touch, Squeezeplay OS
X, and iPeng P
So, the Linux buffering may be a different cause - I've just reconnected
to that server to collect the logs, and found that Listen Live (Non UK)
now plays fine - no rebuffering - buit switching back to windows still
stalls. So, something different in the two, although obviously both in
the same c

I assume the Groovesalad aac stream http://somafm.com/groovesalad130.pls
plays OK as well.
It could be associated with

I had a chuckle at that. As I sit here with my 2mbps
with-a-following-wind broadband, and BT saying they have no plans but
may think about upgrading to 'superfast' here
I use a Pi B without any problems - installed squeezeplug 7.50 which
allows you to set up LMS, etc. easily. I guess the only drawback is
that indexing is a little slow - depends on the size of your music
library.
I agree with PasTim about cloud storage!

That is a good question. There are several differences with On Demand -
the chunks of audio are 10 seconds long rather than 6.4 seconds long,
the bit rate will be different (I'm not sure what the non-uk On Deman

Maybe you unchecked "Show this screen at launch". Try launching again
and see if the icon appears in the notification area.
