And 5 minutes after my last post, so do I. Error resolved as well.
Thanks Greg!

Thanks for the fix Greg! And for the unbelievably fast turn around too!

Hi Greg,
Thanks for a great piece of software!
Unfortunately, I'm getting a "Cannot focus a disabled or invisible
window" error on app startup. This is happening on two machines on my
LAN.
Things I've checked:
- I found a reference to the error way back in this thread, but no
resolution.

Hi Michael,
Welcome back - glad you had a good break!
All of my digging was focused on SpotifyConnect - it turned out you
could see similar stuff in LMS Spotty by tweaking the bit rate in

It's not a proper fix - it's a change that makes things better to a
variable degree,

I think slartibartfast may be talking about changing the default bitrate
in Daemon.pm rather than in the GUI, which is the hack that changes the
track length for
Looks like you are joining the short track brigade.

The album plays fine down to and including the 0:43 track with my hack
that makes things work in the spotty perl (it's not a fix,
The tracks in pink flag are quite a lot longer than the Eilish and
Beatles tracks. Maybe spotify handles very short tracks differently?

Yup - same error with librespot. I also ran spotty manually and it
crashed as well. Both were OK on the previous track.

Good thinking! No it doesn't - and we also get a useful error:
Code:
[2020-07-18T07:35:56Z INFO librespot_playback::player] Loading
with Spotify URI
And finally, a hacky fix that seems to have got things at least
*partially* working on the short tracks stopping problem.
I tried editing the command line options in
Spotty-Plugin/Connect/daemon.pm, specifically:
Code:
my @helperArgs = (
'-c',

For now, no luck on this. I'll see if I can figure out a way to bypass
the cache in the plugin, but I suspect it's now time to wait for Michael
to re-ap

I think I've answered my own question. I've fired up spotty as follows:
./spotty -n testname -b 320 --lms serverhost:9000 --player-mac
I've done this one two pcs - t
Hi Michael and others following this particular saga,
I've done a bit more digging on the spotty short tracks problem. The
stuff I have tried:
- Run the java-librespot client.
- After a diversion through windows sandboxing and virtualisation, I was
able to compile and run the windows version

Complicated is probably right. Apple is less than flexible about the app
version installed, and I have no idea if version numbers line up

Agreed, but it was worth taking the time to eliminate this as a
possible/likely cause. Michael - please
And just tested on with LMS running on macos. Same stops on short track
outcome.
I'll see if I can find a non-LMS librespot endpoint and check if I'm
having the same problems there.

Just checked - three short tracks play fine direct from LMS.

Apparently I'm going to be doing an ongoing series on things I've
figured out about how to get Spotty working in my network ... (No
disrepect to Michael and his excellent work on Spotty - very much
finding problems of my own making and sorting them out).

First and most importantly, thank you Michael for providing an excellent
plugin and for all of the other work you have done on the LMS ecosystem.
It's been much appreciated by me over the years.
As it has taken about 4 days of ferreting around various parts of the
forum and github to put this
you have requested over the weekend.
Cheers,
