Proberbly not much. The official Synology package - where LmsRepack is

Odd though as I disabled AVG but left the firewall active which resolves

Will, you might want to try disabling your anti-virus. I have not gotten
around to test Pinkdot's repack LMS, yet, but for me Bitdefender and
Squeezeplay did not work together on Win7 at

While reinstalling the repack, I got an error that 'another app was
using port 9000'. Odd I thought... I then took a look at my SSODS
installation and noticed that an instance of LMS 7.8 was running

installing LMSRepack through the Package Center. Ssods is completely
seperated from DSM, so you won't mess things up if you try.

I've uninstalled the Synology LMS but still have ssods and LMS 7.8
installed.
Can I leave SSODS and LMS 7.8 installed and just stop the LMS process

If you do a rescan for changed ,it's logged in the server log for some
reason not the scanner log . FYI

It took me the whole day to find 2 out of over 46'000 music files that
are causing LMS to crash:

couple of hidden jpg) althouh I still have tons of this

I'd like to try the LMS repack package, but is there a way to backup and
restore the LMS settings (paths, favourites etc., ideally also database
(though the music files could be easily re-scanned if the paths are
available) and addons (not sure whether I even any in use atm). I am

Other than some permissions there was nothing wrong with these files.
They were scanned as any other. So may be you should check the directory
permission and set this

Thanks for the updates.
Unfortunately nothing changed: the last scanner.log entry is still from
yesterday (the server.log is up-to-date).
And installation on DS712+ still fails.

You have to remove your current installation of the Synology package.
This also will remove all your settings, prefs and database. The only
way to backup and restore is by command line AFAIK. But it is
recommended to do a fresh install. Some plugins might not be compatible
Just thought I'd report back. I added the package source in the
community tab and let it install that way. So far all running
perfectly.
