Yes it was my mistake, FF working perfectly with the correct version,
I'll think twice before changing the version number! Sorry for wasting
your time.

It's definitely a listen again stream, I installed your add-on for the
iPlayer and am playing it through that.
I installed it as per your instructions, I had to change one of the
config files to allow it to run on 7.1 as it was initially disabled.

Only with 2.01 and 7.1 has AlienBBC has implemented the same FFWD
interface as used with Flac files as well as Podcasts from some
broadcasters.
I have already test with The Radio 1 Listen Again I tested on was a

What used to appear is the same interface that you get when you FF flac

It certainly used to work on Radio 4 Saturday Live. I tried testing it
on Radio 1 Chris Moyles Listen Again
Are you sure you are using 7.1 and not 7.0.1
I've justed tested 7.1 rev 21851 with SBC r2704 and the FFW works. It
has a new inteeface which allow the wheel to set the position within
the program rather than jump a few minsutes forward as the old
interface.

I am using Alien BBC (v2.01b1), I tried it on a couple of the listen
again feeds(Radio 1 BBC iPlayer) using my duet controller, previously
worked when I held down the FF button, but now doesn't, wonder if it's
the changes in 7.1? I did also test it with one of the older Radio 4
feeds and that does
For 7.1 you rew/fwd should work in v2.01 Beta1 of alien. It won't work
in v2.00 as this only supports the rew/fwd method used on 7.0

There are a lot of different caches (including Windows) which can hold
old code or URLs that have been fetched before. These caches means the
updated code may not actually be run. You either wait for caches to
expire or explicitly clear them out.
In this case, I think you should try to clear th

Is this the first time you installed AlienBBC or did you install the

They are general AlienBBC issues but not related to AlienBBC 2.01 beta
and any bugs in it which is the subject of this thread. It is easier to
follow problems in the beta if the thread only contains relevant issues.
There are two other AlienBBC / iPlayer threads already open.

These comments should really be in a separate thread as the purpose of
AlienBBC is
1. RealAudio support
2. Analyse menus to provide access to Listen Again.
New higher bitrate are not RealAudio and they are not available in
Listen Again.
In theory get the URL for the new high bit rate streams
Compared to what we have, the bitrates available are enormously better.
If we can get this on a Squeezebox, I'll probably be able to sell my
digital radio. It's enormously encouraging and terrific news for all
of us.

I believe new bitrates only started today and they are UK only.
My guess is that it will not be worthwhile changing AlienBBC until BBC
provide the API to access the new streams.

The new version of Iplayer is out. Will this affect Alienbbc and will
it be able to take advantage of the new bitrates?

I think most of it will work but the SC code which handles FFWD/REW is
being rewritten in 7.2 so that functionality will probably break in the

This release addresses the following issues:
