Now that I am back home ... to my embarressment - I see a button marked "Sleep" on the remote control. My excuse, poor though it is, is that I wanted to use the Sleep function while laying in bed in the dark but able to see the SB2 screen ... so I navigated the menus and didn't find anything, so w

Re comparing with built-in Sleep function ... to be honest - I had not found a built-in Sleep function (I assume you mean that it ships with the SB either in firmware or via pre-built code in Slimserver). I have SB2 and run Slimserver 6.5 I will check when I get home again tomorrow evening. --

solution to the morning volume problem only. set an alarm on the SB to wake you up with high alarm volume. the SB would have a high volume then. so the low volume you left it on the previous night would not cause distress... does not solve the slowly reducing volume in sleep mode. -- lrossou

Powersave isn't going to be able to do what you want, there's no volume ramping down. The sleep function already ramps the volume down over a short period, sounds like you need a plugin replacement for that function over a long period. -- jth ---

KDF had some sort of fade built into his advanced alarm plugin. If you look at the code I believe it still exists. I have been able to get fading in on alarm trigger working great but have not tried it on sleep as I believe that would require modding the core code. A sleep plugin should work o

A simple sleep would be nice though - especially if it is internet radio that is playing. i.e. tune to internet radio station late at night - then set sleep for n minutes. At n minutes - playing is stopped - saving bandwidth (if using internet radio) and providing quiet sleep. The gradual volume
