Thank you. I have tried this;
perl slimserver.pl --user=www --d_startup --debug server=debug
and it states that there are permission issues with many of the .pm
file located within the /mnt/data/mediaserver/squeezebox/ directory
and sub-directory system, and not being able to open and save

Can you copy/paste the output?

The permission issues aren't on the installation folder, but the etc and
var sub-folders of your share:
/mnt/data/mediaserver/var/
/mnt/data/mediaserver/etc/
chmod them too.

When will slimnas work on amd64?
Don't know. It requires quite some work for which I don't have the time. Any
good reason why you have to use the 64 bit version?

I had some problems with GEOM Raid5 before and had to use ZFS instead.
I was told that AMD64 is better for ZFS but soon realized that your

awesome from the screenshots. I'm surprised that not a

Hi,
Thanks for giving it a try. Sounds like there's a chance to get SBS up
and running after all.
I tried a number of files. Based on your post I gave 7.5.2 a try.
Here's a more detailed description of what I tried:
* Downloaded squeezeboxserver-7.5.2.tgz from
A bit more information. I checked the modified the start command based
on thefunctions.inc file.
Here's what I get with the modified start command:
[r...@freenas /mnt/wasabi/slimnas]# HOME=/mnt/wasabi/slimnas/
PAR_GLOBAL_CLEAN=1 TEMP=/mnt/wasabi/slimnas/var/squeezebox/Cache
Again no reason for why the process is killed.. I'm running my HP t5700
with only 256MB of RAM. Could this perhaps be the problem?
Yes. Please enable swapping in FreeNAS.

Guess there's no new news on Freenas 0.7.2 support?
Latest news: I just installed a fresh 0.7.2, installed SlimNAS 2.0.1 on top of
it, running SBS 7.5.2 without any glitch so far.
The following modules failed to load: DBI DBD::mysql EV
XML::Parser::Expat HTML::Parser JSON::XS Digest::SHA1
Hi,
Sounds like quite a bit leap from 0.7.1 to 0.7.2...
Any chance of having a 0.7.2 compatible version on SlimNAS released in
the near future, or should I try to find a copy of a LiveCD i386 0.7.1
somewhere?

Sure I'd like to keep it alive. But this won't happen before the Holidays.

Hi,
Guess there's no new news on Freenas 0.7.2 support? I didn't even find

SlimNAS 2.0.1
SBS 7.5.1

I have transferred all my data over to a 7.2 box using zfs.

I too am having trouble getting SlimNAS to start using 0.7.2. It appears
to install OK but it cannot start. I haven't delved into permissions or
log files. My first thought was to revert to 7.1 because I successfully
used 0.7.1 last night on a different computer. I'm still having problems
though.
Do you have any idea when slimNAS is updated to support FreeNAS 0.7.2?
Not before FreeNAS 0.7.2 has been released.

So as I posted earlier it seems that the latest version of SlimNAS works
on FreeNAS 7.1 but 7.2 does fix some issues for me relating to my use of

As such I went into my squeezebox directory and ran

Are you trying to install the 64-bit version? This wouldn't be compatible
with SlimNAS.
SlimNAS has not been tested with 0.7.2 yet. As it's moving from FreeBSD
7.2 to 7.3 as the code base there might be compatibility
