Hmmm, After a few albums have played the SB response returns to normal. So maybe Trackstat does some heavy duty processing when first invoked? My Squeezecentre runs on a Koolu so not the fastest device if a lot of work is being done. I'll explore some more to try and find out how long the

Kon, if you are running 6.5 and only those three third party plugins it should work without patching or custom.map. By default TrackStat only applies rating to button 0-5, you can optionally apply ratings with 0-9 but this has to be enabled in the TrackStat settings page under Server

This is a tough one. I skip some songs I like because I'm not in the mood or I have company, I skip others because they suck. Ideally I'd like a skip with extreme prejudice option. (I know, hold down the 2 button first!) I think for me - if I skip it (ever): decrement. It's simpler than guessing

Erland, I unfortunately have organized my music in the root directory of drive G:\ Now I want to move all folders to a subdirectory G:\Music. What is the new synthax in the trackstat xml-file? Here's an existing example:

Question on Trackstat? I am using the rating auto adjust feature - and have it set to decrease if less than 30% of a song is played. But it seems like many of the times I skip early in the song, it doesn't decrement. Is there some logic to that or is it simply that I am skipping before

It increases/decreases a rating with 1 on a scale between 1-100. The stars visible in the user interface is only shown with a scale of 1-5 or 1-10. This means that a rating needs to be decreased up to 20 times(if 1-5 scale) or 10 times(if 1-10 scale) until it is shown as a star less/more in the

I agree that is shouldn't be decreased unless you actually start listening to the song...probably 5 seconds sounds good to me. That way if you are scanning through a list for a particular song, the songs you skip won't be penalized. -- markmun

Is it not possible to save the rating to, say, an ID3 tag, or an APE tag, as a custom field? I'm sure this has been considered but I think iTunes saves it as a tag...why not Trackstat? This way it follows the music wherever it goes. -- bossanova808

It would be possible to write the ratings to the music files, for ratings there already is a standard ID3 tag called POPM available. But since TrackStat also stores play counts and last played time it would probably make sense to store it in a custom tag. The reason I haven't done this yet is

When I do a trackstat - recently added - last added albums - click album . The tracks are not in tracknumber order - is there a way to get it to display them this way? Or reorder after adding to playlist? thanks -- nik8

I've never been fond of the way it counts unrated tracks as 3*. It means that the majority of my albums are rated 3*. I generally use the 1-5 scale as a goodness rating (so a 1* means not bad rather than terrible). If I don't like songs, I don't rip them. So a 3* doesn't mean average in my
