LastFM has 'similar artists' stations, which are created automatically in the
LastFM menus for the recently played artists.
I believe they're not allowed by the record labels to play specific artist
stations, as that functionality used to exist but was removed some time ago.

James, does Lastfm have a similar function to Pandora where one can set
up a station say for one artist, select it, and then Lastfm plays songs
by that artist and other similar music? I've got a lastfm "libary" but
it has things I've added but also other things that were played. Does

squeezecenter. There is a yaml directory under server/CPAN/, but no

I think this happens when the plugin was in the wrong place but is then moved
to the right one.
Try deleting the plugin-data.yaml file from the SqueezeCenter cache directory,
then restart?

OK, I think I've got it now (too many different installations of

Currently I'm using 7.3.1 and am having issues with the latest

My Las.fm account shows up and it appears to be scrobbing but the plug
in tab in SC says the audioscrobbler plug in is incomptaible and has to

I found this out too but it's a last.fm thing. They want you to pay to
be able to use your own station. It's kind of odd that they let you
use other stations but not your own but that's the way it is. Not
really a big deal, just find someone else with your music tastes. I use
pandora also so rea

Hi. I've just done a re-install of my whole system. Last.fm was working
before this but now doesn't. Could anyone tell me why? It just comes up
with connecting... and doesn't connect to the stream. I'm running 6.5.1

My Last.fm plugin has stopped ouputting audio but is not giving any
other indication it's failed that I've seen. I posted the debug log
info below. My username and password are still held in the
AudioScrobbler plugin properly as far as i can see. Any pointers

I've noticed some odd things with discovery mode:
* cannot seem to toggle discovery mode using the remote (tried play
button and right arrow)
* although I can toggle discovery mode using the WebUI the status and
the clickable link are often the same, e.g.
Discovery Mode: off_off_

The way the plugin works is that it starts playback, which is always
going to be from the last played station, then in sends a change station
request. If the change station request fails at all it would carry on
playing the default station, which could be what's happened here.

I can imagine that could cause a problem. Certainly you can't delete
stations with a '+' for some reason!
Do you know what the station was that had a plus in it? I've tried
making some up but they get ignored by LastFM.

I have been fiddling around with the last.fm plugin for quite a while
now.. and its not really working very satisfactory.
First of all there's quite a few issues which obviously are not the
plugins fault, since the last.fm servers seem to be quite slow and
unstable a lot of the time.

Got it!
The hypertext link tag on the Discovery on/off is not properly closed
and so the link stretches from "on/off", through "Change LastFM
Station", "Similar Artist Radio:" and the text entry box itself.
The link is only there when the Now Playing info is shown of course.

The most useful flag (for an SB3) is --directstream (or direct_stream?)
but it's unlikely to tell you much.
It's almost always a problem with LastFM - I saw a message that they're

Hi, I'm having problems keeping Last.fm running on my SB3 for any more
than an hour or so. Intermittantly it drops out, and sometimes
recvovers on the same track, but sooner or later it will stop
altogether with the message 'connecting' at the top of the SB3 screen,

I've seen some behaviour that wasn't there before recently: when
starting the last.fm radio plugin, the Squeezebox restarts. Also, after
changing to another (Last.FM) station, it restarts. Don't know exactly
when this started, but it probably was at version 6.2.2.
