Been subbed for two days now and already I'm learning. Still, questions

With a new/old pb1400c, I'm wondering... what to do with it? Would be a

Another dumb question: How about a USB card? Could I link the 1400 with
the iMac via USB?

Unfortunately both FireWire and USB are going to be cardbus cards,
these will not work in the 1400, get an ethernet card, but ensure that
it is 16 bit, not cardbus and that it has Mac drivers.

Unfortunately, the 1400 doesn't have firewire or usb options. There are
plenty of older ethernet cards out there, though. I got a Farallon card
for my 1400 a few years ago for under $50 in a sale. I've never used
8.5/8.6 on my 1400, but I'm pretty happy with 8.1.

I didn't realize when I installed 8.6 that the 3400
used a special extension for modem/ethernet. Now I am
trying to connect my 3400 to my home network to share
a cable modem, but I can't get it to see the Ethernet
card. I have a feeling this is becasue I don't have
the right extension loaded.

I have this card I am trying to get to work on a Powerbook 1400 running 8.6.
It is by Dlink, see link below. No luck yet but does have mac driver disk in

I had a PB100 that would not start up because the battery was n o good.
Removing the battery and starting it using only the AC plug allowed it to
start. We may have also reset the PRAM or maybe it was the power manager.
It's been many years and I don't remember.
