different Duo RAM?

2002-06-12 Thread Clae
Something tells me that the Duo RAM I just bought won't install in my 280. There's a label on the pack listing compatible models, and it doesn't list the 280. Can anyone confirm or deny if this 20 meg module will work in my machine? Cheers, -- David Clae Gason Secretary, Melbourne Wireless

5300 Memory Upgrade

Yes, it does. Currently in the newer powerbooks, you have essentially two speeds--4200 rpm and 5400 rpm. Obviously, a faster drive will access files more quickly. A larger drive if it's fragmented badly may take longer to access a file. I'm sure Remy of Insanely-great-mac.com has some benchmarks.

SOMETIMES 190 RAM works, sometimes it doesn't. I have a 24mb card out of a 190 that works just fine in my wife's 5300ce and doesn't work at all in my 5300cs. If at all possible get 5300 RAM. Jim -- PowerBooks is sponsored by and... Small Dog Electronicshttp://ww

Any external SCSI CD-ROM (or CD-RW) should work just fine. Use either the System 7.6 Apple CD-ROM drivers (ver. 5.3.1) or a third party driver like CD/HDST. You will also need an HDI-30 to SCSI cable. (HDI-30 is the square port on the back of your 5300. That's PB SCSI) Jim -- PowerBooks is sp
