If you have Expander and it's still not working it might be one of two things. Maybe three. Is the icon of the StuffIt file generic? If so, apply the type and creator code from another StuffIt file. Another possibility is that you have an older version of Expander and this might be a newer

Chris, I haven't seen a reason to turn off VM when you are done with Reason 2.0, if that is your practice. I had a 64 mb ram chip in my 3400c and unless you are using almost all of the 3 gig hd space, VM isn't going to take enough that you will experience freezes or in any way know that the VM is
