Ben:
I had 9.1 running on the machine with the Airport drivers installed via
TomeViewer before I went to 9.2.2. It was fine at that point and didn't
hang when shutting down. I think (but I'm not sure because I don't have
the machine booted up right now) that I have Time Server set to
It is odd. I did a clean install of 8.5 which didn't have any trouble
rebooting, and I fired up Civilization 1 just to test. Seemed to
work, but starting Civilization 1 by double-clicking a save game
brought on a hard lock, which it also did under 8.6. Go figure.

First of all, the software disk that came with it seems to be damaged. I was unable

Does anyone on the list run anything like this (ie any
usb 1.1 external hard drive/mp3 player not an iPod?)
I'm running a 3400 under 8.6, using a macally cardbus

Would suggest so. I acquired a PowerBook 1400cs and an Ossietech Jack
of Diamonds Trumpcard 28.8 card modem thanks to the kindness of a
lister.
Came with a floppy with software on it, and the website also had a
downloadable version which was identical.

Okay, I have learned a lot today... for the posterity
of the list, here goes:
Does it work? YES! Well, I knew it did, because I got
the device to load on my pb 3400 this morning, using a
macally usb card under usb 1.1, and I copied files to
it. Those files stared at me all day as I tried all
