I have both machines but use a CRT monitor for the 9600. Connection to the 9600 is done via ethernet or a SCSI cable . SCSI is either 2 way or in disk mode.

manually spin down the hard drive. Supposedly separate controls for
spinning down the hard drive, turning off the screen, etc...were
introduced in version 7.2 of the Powerbook control panel, which came
with the System 3
