try putting it back in the broken back panel just to check and,
if it still stays dark the there might be moisture in the circuit
boards, place them on a piece of kitchen towel and then put them in a
warm place for around 1 day also if you can lay a cilica bag just
under the edge

The answer ended up being quite simple. I had to change it to a .txt
file BEFORE I copied it over and PC file exchange did its magic. Then
Quick Time ignored it, and Quicken could recognize it. Up to that
point, the OS had assigned it to Quick Time exclusively, and Quicken
wouldn't see it at all.
