I used to use my old 540c on a friend's DSL with iCab and Eudora and it

rare. Search E-Bay for them.
The other option is to spend for an IDE-SCSI converter. They are out
there and will work with the Powerbooks that exist. I'm not sure what
you're going to pay but it is an option.

The laser and the constant spin-up/down of the CD draw a lot more
power than just a standalone 'book. I recommend 350W in those cases
when people ask me.

enough CPU speed/power to do it. Maybe under another OS at 8-bit mono

MR I'm about to re-open the PB. This is my first experience with
MR open powerbooks.
Be _very_ careful! There are _lots_ of little things to break -
especially the screw holes that hold the hinges to the back of he LCD
assembly. Those strip

MH Generally if you look there are places to run these but some of them
MH are tricky. For instance the video cable form the motherboard curls
from the motherboard
MH _around_ the right hinge. It won't work any other way. The easiest
MH way to install that is to remove the right
MR I opened it up, found the floppy ribon disconnected. I connected it to
MR the free connector next to it.. This didn't cure the video problem...
MR hehe.

MR I got the microphone section cover off (breaking off two of the plastic
MR clasps...).
*ouch!* That will most likely have to be replaced and at least taped
temporarily. Check E-Bay for these - User: old-mac-milt sells them
occasionally.
