Okay, seeing that I'm still having trouble getting my PB170 to let me use it
for email, I was wondering if there is anyway that I could simply transfer
emails back and furth between my PC and my mac using either floppies or
stargate. All I want is to be able to upload the email messages to my m
Keeping in mind that I am very computer illiterate, how does that work? Are
SCSI ethernet devices common? Does it require a lot of difficult computer
voodoo to get that working? Thanks.

Okay, I started to use my PB170 as my primary computer last summer and was
trying to get it set up for email. However, I took it out one day when it
was wet outside (I had it covered in plastic) but some water must have
gotten in because I tried to start it everyday for a couple of weeks but al
Okay, this is a bit lengthy.
Today I came into work at my Universities writing centre and helped the
director rearrange the whole place. We stumbled across an old PC computer
wire and she told me to go to the desk in the corner and throw it in with
the other computer junk. I had no idea ther
Okay, I know I'm being very naggy over this, but I really want to get eudora
up and running on my PB 170. I went into my mac terminal folder and plugged
into a phone line and pretended I was connecting for a fax. The computer
made all kinds of Modem type noises and then the nice robot lady ope
Okay, I'm positive that my 170 is supposed to have a modem. It came with
all kinds of wacky modem stuff on it. However, I don't think it is working.
I have set up MACTCP and PPP to the best of my ability, but when I go into
PPP the thing always says "PPP down" and I can't click "open" or anyt

Hey, I was wondering if there is any way that I can make my 170 send or

Hey,
I've been wondering if it's still possible to use Eudora on a mac as old
as my powerbook 170? I found all the programs for it on a bunch of
different sites, but they mostly seem out of date. My 170 only has 4MB of
RAM and is still running system 7.0.1 (until I get the time to put all 19
I have all of the 19 disks for system 7.5.3 now. So, do I just put them
into the computer and open them and go ahead? Or is there something else I
have to do first? I am currently running system 7.0.1.
Also, is it possible to get RAM charger for free somewhere online? I think
it could really
I was wondering how I can install system 7.5.3 on my powerbook 170 without
losing all the things I have on it. Will installing the new program cause
me to lose my old applications or can I just install it and have everything
else remain the same. Thanks for any help.

just what I needed. However, that is one of the ones that got junked so if
it's not too much trouble I would appriciate it if he sent it again. I'm
sorry I can't email him directly but because his reply was junked and I
Okay, here's the thing. I emailed this message already, and got one
response sent directly to me. However, I just found out that hotmail was
sending almost all the messages from this list into my junk mail and that
every reply before a couple of days ago was deleted. So, I've fixed the

Hey, I just got a Powerbook 170 for five dollars at a flea market. It has
decent versions of word, Powerpoint, and excel on it already, which makes it
useful to me. However, I've found a bunch of other old programs for it on
the internet that need to be opened using stuffit expander. My powe
