The audio in your session has technically been imported into the session but
not into the session's Audio Files folder. Files can exist anywhere on any
drive and Pro Tools will look in the folders within which it expects to find
the files. The best way to remedy the situation at this point is to
Convert is what you use when a file is in a different file type, bit depth or
sample rate then the session.
The copy feature is a new thing with PT 11, so I’m not sure exactly what order
the buttons need to be clicked in.
I’m fumbling around like you trying to get it working right every time.

is there another way to just copy the audio to the project folder?
