I'm too busy to be detailed, so sorry, but: newish mac machines plus
live USB boot of puredyne has been a total pain for me recently.
"Faultless"? No. We're trying to improve this but we mostly don't use

Hi all,
Thanks to your supercollider ubuntu team, plus the kind people in

Naive question since I'm an audio kind of person... is there decent

The way it works is that the sclang program is executed in a shell "of

I don't have firewire kit to test, I'm afraid, but maybe you could try

It could be a question of IRQ priorities I imagine.

Hi -
I'm using xmodmap to remap caps-lock as f6 (since that executes a line
in scvim), working nicely in x-session windows.
But in the virtual console, x stuff doesn't apply. Anyone know how I
can do the same thing there?
Thanks
Dan

Hi -
If you're using puredyne, nothing needs to be added - the default set
in Puredyne 9.10 include our stuff as well as ubuntu, medibuntu etc.

Hi all -
We decided to try Wikibooks for the new puredyne manual. Thanks to
those (james, alejo, etc) who have contributed howtos on-list, we've
merged them in, copied across some of the old documentation etc.
So the new documentation is here (please feel very welcome to

Yep, exactly right. Latest puredyne is based on ubuntu karmic, so the
repos contains packages mainly for karmicish flavours

I was on a machine which was too old to allow usb boot - someone
mentioned that it's possible to use a CD+USB in combination (i.e. the
computer boots the CD, but the CD's bootloader then chooses to load
the USB OS). didn't try it though
