e the JS file by
a relative path (_static/documentation_options.js), without the $path/ part.
Otherwise your idea was correct. I am doing a new upload now.

for now I would prefer to wait until #899124 has some resolution and
recommend you to build your packages with fonts-font-awesome from testing
until this gets fixed.

Yes, it is a bug in sphinxcontrib-bibtex, it no longer applies its transform
for all tests except the first one.
I have submitted a pull request upstream which has a fix for this issue.
