Is there a collection of color ramps fro vectors?
I'm interested on a terrain ramp, to display
elevation intervals.
Thanks

Hi Markus and Marco,
I think there are two ways of transparency:
* a global layer transparency (still missing as Marco said)
* transparency in the SVG pattern - this is probably what Markus wants.
This should let layers below the SVG pattern layer shine through where
there is no 100% opaque
Is there a way of comparing the data in two raster images (actually two DEM's)
that cover the same area but at different resolution?
So far I have created a grid of points and used the point sampling tool to get
the value from the two rasters but this is a long way round, is there a direct
way

I saw, however, another problem (probably bound to antialiasing problems).
There are some artefacts behind the SVG pattern when the layer below has a
darker fill.

Same setup as Greg (my binaries), takes a few minutes to open.
A thought - gdalinfo on the jp2 tiles uses the ECW JP2 driver, which is a
plugin on the Mac, but I wonder if the vrt is ignoring plugins and using the
builtin jasper driver (slow).

Thanks, Tom. Now that I am back on my machine, I see that it is all raster

My GDAL gdalinfo uses the hardware accelerated Kakadu based JPEG2000 code,
which is up to 10 times faster than the software based Jasper based JPEG2000
code. So, why then does it take me with the faster GDAL Kakadu JPEG2000 the
same time, several minutes, it takes William with the slower GDAL
I said that I disabled the ECW JP2 plugin and it took *longer* than my previous
test. That is, using the Jasper driver takes much longer than the 3-5 min with
ECW (for me) or Kakadu (for you).

On Ubuntu 9.04 (binaries)

Hi,
actually it would be good if the backspace key would also delete the
elements. On Macintosh keyboards ther are no delete keys and for some
users it may not be so obvious that Fn-Backspace is the combination for
delete. So maybe the Print Composer could listen for both key events -
