Hi all,
When I started QGIS on my MacBook today after rebooting for the first time
in a long time, I found that there was no qgis menu bar. It's not at the
top of the screen like normal mac apps, it's not within the qgis window
itself, and there is no qgis app icon shown when I switch between apps

Dear Colleagues,
I have a question in qgis (PC) we cannot resolve:
we have a point data set (shapefile projected) and want to rasterize
it for a distance estimate.
But in qgis, and doing all steps as requested, just brings us a plain grey
canvas/grid (large minus values).
We cannot see any point

This script [0] should works for both Python Console and Script runner [1].
For Python Console, saves it as

Hello,
system's Gatekeeper is already set to Anywhere and I've not made any recent
system update.
I've completely removed the previous QGis installation, removed all installed
plugins and user preferences / cache.
I'll try to create the new user and check if this will solve the problem.
Thank y
do you have the system's Gatekeeper on? (System Prefs-Security-General-Allow
applications, either of first 2 options) Try it after setting that to Anywhere.
Something changed in your system or user environment recently (if it was
working previously)? Or maybe a new QGIS plugin you installed?
Hello all,
I'm having a strange error on MacOS X Mountaint Lion (10.8.3) witha latest QGIS

I have a big project on which I've been working for long time, but suddenly I'm
having some problems on loading new data, both rasters and shapefiles.

As others on the list has mentioned, QGIS or rather, the underlying
GDAL/OGR library has some issues with recognition of certain CRS
definitions for Tab - files. In your specific case is it the EPGS:25832.
Try to look at the Layer CRS defintion of the tab file opened in QGIS .

Hi!
Still.. That script has no relation to QGIS and there is no use to execute
it in QGIS ..
That script is a so called "standalone" script that uses the GDAL Binaries
(ogr2ogr)
to execute that script you must have python and GDAL installed and in your
PATH ..
and no .. you dont neet to give anyth
Ah yes .. and I forgot ..
That script uses ogr2ogr which is part of the gdal-bin Package ..
so you would probably take a look at http://www.gdal.org
to get the right package for your Operating System ..
Sorry that I forgot to mention that earlier ..
kind regards

Hi Silver!
Beside the fact that your script is not related to QGIS ..
the script is to be copied within the shapefiles in the directory and to be
called from there.
The only thing you need to set is
shpclip = "/home/thomas/git/python_scripts/clipping_area.shp"
thats the path to your shape that you
Hello everybody,
I'm new on the mailing list. I'm a beginner with Python and Python Console
in QGIS.
I have a lot of shapefiles that I want to clip with one shapefile. Instead
of doing it manually, I want to try to use a script to do it.
By seeking on the mailing list archives, I found this :

Sounds annoying
I have had no issue with TAB file projections in QGIS apart from dealing
wiht non-earth projected data
Sounds like an issue with that particular SRS in QGIS OGR libs. Like Jurgen
mentioned you should use OGRINFO to verify.
In the mean time could you reproject your TABS to WGS84 o

Ok. Let me be more specific. My problems with latest QGIS and GRASS went
like this:
I have added the QGIS repository to my apt sources and installed latest
QGIS build, following this link:

Dear QGIS-Community,
I'm preparing to get used QGIS 1.8 with Windows Vista/7.
Since I do have to work with MapInfo-Professional as well and sometimes users
