Hello Deon
You can use the function Avoid Intersection while digitizing.
In this way you avoid overlap - but not gaps.

I've looked at some other installations in my office and they look right.
So there's a problem with mine. I'm waiting for my IT people to get a
chance to reinstall for me.
I was planning to post back with the results.

When you log out, you have pick to login to Unity 2D. Other options are
to trying installing XFCE, KDE or another window manager. Another way to
test, try booting OSGeoLive from a usb or DVD to see if it has the same
problem.
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm trying to write my first plugin with pyqgis. I usually do my statistics
analysis with R (or matlab), but I would like to speed up things with a
custom plugin. Who knows it could be useful in the future for others.
I tried R in Sextante, but I think a separate plugin would be more useful.
I think none, just open the raster dialogue, click on the tiff file & QGIS will
display it, in the correct place on the map - providing you set it to the
correct CRS. If you (& QGIS) don't know what this is, you may be able to find
out using gdalinfo.
One caveat is that a tiff can be a coverag
Johanna,
You still having this problem? I noticed the plugin repository was down for

this had anything to do with your problem?
For Windows Users, custom downloaded plugins now normally live in:

There is no current function of choosing to show labels (in a temporal
fashion) for the current selection. However, there are new tools in QGIS

That is not possible AFAIK. As a workaround you may save the selection
as a new layer, label it and remove the symbol. There might be better
ways depending on selection criteria, type of stora
I realize now that different maps will use different
fields/expressions for labelling so requiring different queries. Maybe
this feature can be added to the labelling engine but it would take
time.

Have Yu used "OSGeo4W Network Installer (64 bit)" or "QGIS Standalone

Hello all,
I received several rasters.
Each one have five files with the following formats:
*.aux
*.rrd
*.tfwx
*.tiff.aux.xmlx
*.tif.vat.dbt
What kind of tasks are needed to convert these files before to open
them in QGis?
Many thanks in advance for any help.
Kind regards,

Hello all,
I will create a QGis project for the Cape Verde archipelago.
The EPSG code used by the capeverdian national authorities is the 4826.
However, in QGis this EPSG is not in the CRS list.
Can somebody help me to solve this problem?
Many thanks in advance,

Hello Nuno,
It seems to me that most of those files are auxiliary files for ArcGIS
only. Except for the tfwx (that has the georeference info for your
raster), you wont need them in QGIS. Do you have a TIF file also? You
should. And if so, you can open it directly on QGIS.

Hello Santiago,
Please also note that, by default, the 64bit installer will create a
OSGeo4W64 folder instead od the usual OSGeo4W one (you can choose a
different name tho), so any needed "hack" that you find should be done
there.

64bit QGIS (if you used the 64bit installer) on Windows supports ECW out of
the box. You shouldn't need to install anything extra. The 32bit install
currently doesn't support it and you will have to the use the method in the
in the blog post.

Yes currently the 64bit installer contians ECW but the 32bit doesn't. Thee
