Hi Zoltan,
Have you tried using Franson GPS gate. I used it a couple of years back to
interface between a "Qstarz" GPS data logger which transmistted a NMEA live
stream via blue tooth and QGIS on a laptop. I came to the conclusion that
sometimes the QGIS buffer gets full so using GPS gate buffers

The PyQGIS Cookbook can, of course, be improved, and is far from
complete, but I would say it is already good enough. One of the most
interesting things about QGIS is the large amount of different plugins
available, and most of them have been developed by people that are not
core devs. I guess the
But the logical in FOSS is to have a community that learns and helps to

certainly not what Linux really is, because some Linux distros have

Hi Ramon,
Thanks for the clarification.
But given that, shouldn't they be radio buttons, not checkboxes? They
certainly sound mutually exclusive.

Derek,
No not negative at all, I appreciate the feedback and suspected the reasoning

Hi,
The service configuration is optional. If you did not specify a
PostgreSQL service you should leave the service field empty.
Services are a good way to keep PostgreSQL connections independent of
IP-addresses and computer names. You define a service and can exchange
the datatabase server under

Hi rob,
if your OGC services are starting with http:// QGIS will use :80 as it
is the used protocols standard port. There's nothing specific about it.
If you can surf the internet QGIS should be able to use http:// based
services.

I was able to connect to a Postgres database in v1.9, but am getting an error
in version 2.0.
When I submit the connection details I get ERROR: service file
"/etc/pg_service.conf" not found
I can confirm that this file does not seem to exist on my PC, I didn't have a
problem with this in 1.9.

Hello all,
I enjoyed to use qgis (2.0.1 dufour) in my research work and I'd like to
use it in my hydrological class.
The computers room that I use has very limited security rules and so,
only port 80 is open for external connection (mainly html).
That is probably the reason why I cannot connect

I have "Check for updates on startup" selected in my Plugin Manager

So when I opened up QGIS 2.0.1 this morning, I was happily surprised to
see a "New" icon with these new (I suspect updated to 2.0.1) plugins:
Copy_Coords
Crayfish
Hypsometry
Numerical Vertex Edit

Hi Johanna,
In Settings -> Options, under the "General" tab you can set the
application font, including size. This seems to carry over to Composer, or
does for me at least.
The second point sounds like a bug - I'd suggest reporting it to the bug
tracker with examples.

Hi List,
Maybe it's just me, but in 2.0 under Settings -> Options -> CRS I have
two options:
"Automatically enable 'on the fly' reprojection if layers have different

and
"Enable 'on the fly' reprojection by default"
My question - what is the difference between these two? They sound like

Hello all,
I've been trying QGIS Dufour and I've realized about a problem in Ubuntu
versions of QGIS 2 (Windows versions don't suffer this problem).
When trying to import local shape files into PostGIS database through SPIT

Caro Paolo,
Grazie.It's wonderful. Qgis becomes foolproof.

Hello,
We have to do a photo-interpretation project. We have to display
simultaneously TWO data : one raster raw data (to capture vector features
from) + another raster data to assist in the interpretation. So we would
like divide classic qgis interface into 2 views. Indeed we would like

Hi all,
I am experiencing a weird nuisance with PostGIS layers. Namely, the
primary key of the table is of integer type. However, when selecting
features via expression or setting rule-specific styles using this ID
field, it seems that the integers are not treated as properly numeric.
