This week I start with Qgis. The most things I want, I found it on

In the table for objects there is the possibility for a text field. But it
is limited to 255 character.
I can't find a possibility for more text such as a memo field.

I have created text annotations on the map canvas and wish to hide the
annotations. Is it possible to toggle the visibility on and off?
I created the annotations using the gui tool, but I have seen this is
also possible via python. I am using osgeo4w-r15593.

ESRI shape files uses dbf (dBase) format, which limits the width of text
field to 255 chars. If you need longer text field (not usual in GIS), you
must use another editable format of QGIS, e.g. spatialite or postgis.

You will have to duplicate the layer, create an expression for the each
row, set each layer's font size accordingly and play with the vertical
offset (or quadrant) to get the desired effect.

like we are already able to do in the "Display" tab of the vector layer
properties dialog. This way we could use HTML syntax to style labels. It
won't be easy to implement

What server is the WMS? Many servers support the DPI parameter nowadays
(not in the OGC standard - but most servers implement them). I know that
both UMN Mapserver and QGIS server support the DPI parameter.
Would be nice if the QGIS WMS client would support it as well - esp.
when printing/exportin

to the WMS URL (in Qgis 1.9) but it makes no difference so I gues the
National Danish Cadaster server does not support it. But at least I now know
what to ask for.
