Because you're delivering to a pipe, not a mailbox. (See "man

You can add it yourself by prepending $ENV{'DTLINE'} to the safecat input.

Hi!
I have a strange problem.
I am piping so of my mails through a script which does some stuff on the
mails and then safecats the mails into a maildir.
This is how the .qmail-file looks like.

Problem is now that I am missing the Delivered-To line, qmail normally

It's not. According to RFC 822, ":" is a special, which means it has to
be quoted to be used inside a word. That has to be written as:
To: "
ile it's obvious why I'm interested as to whether the above
constitutes a valid To: line or not.

MTAs don't care about To: (unless they've been messed with). qmail

The following error occurred on a Solaris 5.7 machine running Qmail 1.03:
Here is the original To: line (slightly modified to protect the guilty.)
To: "Someone Else"
And here is the error I get:

Sam,
Your reply is almost aggressively terse. Perhaps you could explain, for
the benefit of those of us less knowledgeable than yourself, exactly *how*
the To: line is broken and how it might be fixed. What should it look
like? And how does it reflect on section 3.4.6 of

This is not an RFC822 issue; it is rather a matter of RFC821 compliance.

You don't. This is a broken To: line that is illegal.
